About Us

Who we are

WooCommercify is an independent publication covering the tools that WordPress businesses actually run on. Community platforms, learning management systems, membership software, hosting, and the plugins that hold it all together.

We are a team of three, working across two countries, with more than a decade of combined hands-on experience building and running WordPress sites. Not marketers writing about software from a spec sheet. People who have installed these tools, broken them, fixed them, and had to explain to a client why something went wrong.

That is the entire basis of what we publish.

What we cover

WordPress has changed. A decade ago the question was which theme to buy. Today it is whether to run your community on WordPress at all, which LMS to pair with it, what hosting survives a thousand concurrent members, and whether a hosted platform would serve you better.

Those are the questions we write about.

Community platforms. BuddyBoss, BuddyPress, and how they compare to hosted alternatives like Circle, Mighty Networks and Skool. Setup, scaling, and the problems nobody mentions until you hit them.

Learning management systems. LearnDash, LifterLMS, TutorLMS, MemberPress Courses, and the native course tools now built into platforms directly.

Membership and monetisation. Access control, subscription models, payment gateways, and the real cost of running a paid community.

Hosting and performance. Community sites are heavy. We cover what actually holds up under load and what falls over.

eCommerce. WooCommerce and WooExpress remain part of what we do, and our earlier guides on both are still maintained.

How we work

We write about tools we have used. Where we have not used something directly, we say so rather than pretending otherwise.

Every review names the downsides. Not as a token paragraph near the end, but wherever the limitation genuinely affects the decision. If a product is a poor fit for a particular kind of business, we say which kind and why. If a cheaper option would serve you better, we say that too.

We correct things. Software changes, pricing changes, and features get deprecated. When one of our guides goes out of date we update it rather than leaving a stale page ranking on a question we answered wrong.

We also publish the unglamorous material. Error messages, failed configurations, plugin conflicts, and the fixes for them. That work brings us no revenue at all. We publish it because it is the part people actually need at two in the morning when a site is down.

How we make money

Plainly, because you should know before you read a recommendation.

Affiliate commissions

When you buy a product through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. This applies across the tools we cover, including competing products in the same category.

Partnerships

We work with selected companies in the WordPress and online business space on commercial arrangements. Where a piece of content is sponsored or produced under a partnership, it is labelled as such on the page.

Client services

We take on SEO and growth work for WordPress and SaaS businesses. If a company we work with also appears in our content, we say so on the page.

What that does not buy

No company pays for a favourable review, a rating, or a position in a comparison. We recommend against products we earn from when they are the wrong fit, and we recommend tools we earn nothing from when they are the right one. Our comparison tables include options that pay us no commission whatsoever, because leaving them out would make the comparison useless.

The reason to trust a review is not that the publisher has no commercial interest. Almost every publisher has one. The reason to trust it is whether the review tells you what is wrong with the product, and whether it tells you when not to buy. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and it is the one you should hold us to.

If you ever find a recommendation on this site that does not meet it, tell us. We would rather fix it than defend it.

Work with us

We are open to partnerships with companies building genuinely useful products for WordPress businesses. Sponsored content, product reviews, and longer-term collaborations are all possible, on the condition that we retain editorial control over what the content actually says.

If that works for you, get in touch.

Get in touch

We are real people and we answer our messages.

Questions, corrections, disagreements and partnership enquiries are all welcome. If we got something wrong, we would genuinely like to know.
